How to Take Criticism

9th February 2011

Criticism

“Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary.
It fulfills the same function as pain in the human body.
It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.”
~ Winston Churchill

Criticism is crucial for personal improvement. It’s the most direct way to find out what you should improve on. However, accepting criticism can be emotionally challenging. Afterall, we’re only human, who wants to hear bad stuff about ourselves?

It’s hard to not take it personally. Our instinctive reaction is to become defensive and we shut out potentially helpful and life-enhancing tips. By doing this, we miss out on what could supercharge our improvement.

So how can you take criticism without getting self-conscious and defensive?

Answer: An effective way to accept criticism is to externalize it.

When you externalize criticism, you escape the defensiveness trap. You stop being self-conscious and take criticism objectively, which lets you reap the benefits of the helpful tips that the criticism contains.

The criticism isn’t directed at you personally, but at a writer, artist, worker, developer (or whatever else you’re getting feedback for) that just happens to have the same name as you. When you take criticism objectively, your initial defensiveness fades away, simply because you’re not taking it personally anymore.

Externalizing criticism lets you extract helpful tips from even the most critical feedback. You take the bits that make sense to you and discard the rest. You don’t risk getting defensive or even feeling bad or self-conscious.

Externalizing criticism is also a shield from bad and unhelpful criticism. It doesn’t matter how much or what kind of comments and criticism you get: you look at it all objectively. You can take what makes sense to you and discard the rest.

When you externalize criticism, you can easily take and use it to supercharge your personal improvement.

5 Steps to Effectively Taking Criticism

Ready to improve your taking of criticism? Good.

Next time you ask for feedback, follow these 5 steps to externalize criticism:

1. Wait for your gut reaction to pass before doing anything – let your emotions disappear, so you don’t take the criticism personally and become defensive
2. Imagine the criticism is directed at someone else – some person who happens to have your name and does exactly what you do
3. Keep your mouth shut – listen, don’t defend
4. Discuss the person’s points – asking questions will a) help you to get even more useful tips from them, and b) externalize the criticism more (you’re seeing it even more objectively this way)

Rinse and repeat every time you get feedback until externalizing criticism becomes a habit.

(Bonus) How to even more effectively take criticism:

1. Be confident – believe in what you do, so that even the most critical comments don’t sway your direction
2. Have a clear goal in what you’re doing – so when you ask for feedback on it, you can take criticism to improve the key areas rather than let others dictate the direction and get lost

Why It’s So Hard to Take Criticism

The reason we get defensive when taking criticism is because we’re tied to our ego. So when someone is giving tips on how we can improve, that person is indirectly acknowledging that we’re not great at something. And our ego gets bruised.

As Dr. Leon F. Seltzer explains in his Psychology Today article on why criticism is so hard to take:

“Criticism, even well-intended criticism, can be understood as a direct assault on our ego. When (however unconsciously) we’ve come to associate our very selves with our ego or point of view, then whenever our perspective is questioned, disbelieved, or disputed, we cannot but experience ourselves in jeopardy – our mental and emotional poise at once thrown into disequilibrium.”

Even if it’s made clear that the criticism is not to criticize but instead show how you can improve, you naturally want to defend yourself. And when you go into defensive mode, you don’t get the tips from the criticism that could really supercharge your improvement.

So detach yourself from your ego – at least when you take criticism. Externalize the criticism so you look at it objectively, rather than as a critique of yourself (and thus your ego).

Nazirah : My Experience with Criticism

Back then, I don't really care what people think of me. When they told me that they don't like my attitude or the way I handle things, I think that I'm right, and they should be able to accept it.

But as I grew up, I am able to take criticism more openly. I will never get mad to the person who criticized me. I thank them for telling me my minus point. Only true friend are able to do that.

After they criticized me, I will listen and never argue. But if I had my reason, I will tell them. But then I guess, it is in our instinct to be defensive. But I do take note and on my own free time, I will think it thoroughly and think of ways to improve whatever it is that has been bothering them.

So friends, if you had anything about me you want to critic, feel free to contact me. I welcome criticism, that's the only way one can see oneself from another person's eye :)

How to Take Criticism

Having trouble taking criticism? Know that the useful tips can help, but you block yourself from them by taking criticism personally and getting defensive? Don’t worry – it’s a natural reaction, and there’s a solution: Effectively accept criticism by externalizing it.

You’ll supercharge your personal improvement by being able to easily get useful tips from people’s feedback. You’ll look at the criticism objectively and take away what makes sense to you, using it to improve what you’re doing. And by listening and discussing instead of defending, you’ll get even more use out of the criticism.

Now go out there and ask for some feedback. Take the criticism, externalize it, and supercharge your improvement.

I Love You

I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I'm with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.

Facebook

3rd February 2011.

This days most of us, our life is centered around Facebook. What we do, where we are, what happened to us, what we want or don't want.., we update it in our Facebook.. I'm one of them.. But I try my best to only updates on things that I feel appropriate.. Like I state on the above..

Some people update what they ate, their moods, relationship problems they have (this including ups and downs), their pet(s), their attempt on selling products, multi-level marketing, how to earn more money by doing this that, what I mean is.. They update everything..

I'm not saying I'm perfect at updating my Facebook, I'm not. I have my fair share of "uncoolness" for sharing information over Facebook that did not need to be shared. I am ashamed of it :(

But I try not to become so self-obsessed. And since when do we became narcissistic? Since we have Facebook. After reading a bunch of articles over the net, I guess I'm one of them. Always updating my status and all. Sh*t. I don't like this trait. But I applaud myself to not always update my status all the time or share everything.

But hey, I don't mind if Facebook users share great articles that gave us information. That's really cool. I don't share informational stuff over my wall, but I do read them. I guess I'm more to reading type.

And I do agreed that Facebook is a great tool to share info, pictures, events, news, etc.. But please, we do not want to know everything that we don't need to know.

Here's an interesting readings : How to Suck at Facebook and Facebooks connection with Narcissism..

P/s : I'm allowed to write my thoughts on everything right? So don't go holding grudges against me for voicing out my opinion. If you don't like it, then move along. You don't have to agree with me. And I don't need to agree with you :)

iPhone, BlackBerry, iCrap, CrapBerry

January 30th, 2011.

I don't get it.. Why people are so crazy about iPhone (from now refer to as iCrap) or BlackBerry (from now refer to CrapBerry)..

I don't mind if people who owned CrapBerry use it for business purposes.. Like sending work related email from anywhere or you are a manager that needs to know all issue(s) your team are facing..

But for normal employee? Why do you need that? Do you need to stay online 24 hours a day all time? Well, not me. I need my offline time.

Seeing Facebook this day, each time there's a person who update their status using CrapBerry, u can see people are going "Congrats new BB user" or "(Excitedly) What's your pin?" or "Wah.. hebatnyer pakai BB".. WTF?? Is that suppose to be some kind of success? Puhhleeezz..

And what about iCrap? You guys keep falling for Steve Jobs tricks! He launched iCrap 3 for that is so pricey.. Then add a few stupid features, launched iCrap 3G S which is ridiculously expensive.. N now iCrap 4.. Do i need to mention the price? N yet, people are soo wowed by it. Hey, if you are rich than had no idea what to do with your money, then please.. go ahead.. But if you are looking something that is value for money, don't go with this iCrap..

Also not forgetting iPad.. I mean.. c'mon! Sure it looks cool and all.. But for what purposes?? I myself love it when I first saw it.. After a quick browsing at a local store, I'm like "This is it? This is all this thing can do" for 3k? Madness..

All i'm trying to understand is.. Why people love these phone so much.. I come with several answer..

iCrap Users
  • They love the iCrap design
  • They love touch screen
  • Glamour kot
  • Easier way to share pic or everything in Facebook or Twitter
  • Bigger screen
  • It's Apple

CrapBerry Users
  • BBM for Free! (they don't count the BB service charge)
  • Stay online with friends ALL the time
  • Can update their Facebook or Twitter ALL the time (with WiFi nearby)
  • I don't know what else..

At the moment, this two phone didn't do it for me.. And I don't see a reason to get one.. (Never even thinking of getting one).. But then, since it's Apple first attempt of a phone, let's give 'em a break.. See if they can come with something that is worth my money.. As for CrapBerry, maybe if one day I become a manager, I might get one.. But the phone is strictly for business related.. Or it's free, given by the company :D

I'm liking Android. I don't have one now but I'm planning on getting one. Waiting for Android 3.0 :)

To sum up what happen after my last-last entry

Hey All,

It's been like forever since I last updated my blog. What's new with me since last time..? A few things literally..

I met Sufian last December (2009). He is my childhood sweetheart. I know him since 11. I like him since then because he's the cutest thing my eyes ever laid on. He's short, fair and very smart. A bit of jerk because he knows that I like him and act like total asshole towards me. But, I don't hold anything against him. It's enough for me to know that he's crazy about me now. (Yesss!!) Baby, I love you..

I had my hernia operation last July. It really is painful. I couldn't walk. And a few weeks ago, my doctor told me I had another hernia. Last time it was on my right, now on my left. You had no idea how panicked I am at the moment. I just don't want to go through that again. And I wanna say thanks to Afan, Liza, Ayz, Rezza and Iqa for visiting me last time. I'm so touched.

Also, every Thursday, I play badminton with my friends at USJ. From 9pm to 12pm. I rarely exercise. So this is pretty much what I do to keep myself fit. I bought a Lightweight Carlton racket. It's really light because I don't want to strain my hand so much. Everytime I'm done playing badminton, my legs, hands, my whole body is in pain. I guess this what happens when you don't exercise much huh? :D

On 30th and 31st October, the company I work with sponsor us a trip sailing on a luxury yacht called Lili Marleen. It was an unforgettable experience. The yacht is big, 110 feet! And the thing I remember most is that all of work together setting the sail sheets. It really is beautiful. I had the pictures on my facebook :)

Today, I'm going karaoke with Shaira and Al at Redbox Pavilion. We are going to celebrate Al's birthday all together. It's too bad that my birthday this 12th November, Sufian is not gonna be there with me because he's stationed at Kerteh until March next year. It's my first birthday together and I don't get to be with someone I really wanna be with. I guess not everything can turn up the way we want it to be right.

I guess that's pretty all I can say now. I'm tired since I'm on my night shift now and not have a good sleep yet. Have a pleasant life people!

Song Alert : Chris Daughtry - No Surprise

LOVE THIS!

No Surprise Lyrics

I've practiced this for hours, gone round and round
And now I think that I've got it all down
And as I say it louder I love how it sounds
Cause I'm not taking the easy way out
Not wrapping this in ribbons
Shouldn't have to give a reason why...

It's NO SURPRISE I won't be here tomorrow
I can't believe that I stayed till today
Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow
But I know in time we'll find this was NO SURPRISE

It came out like a river once I let it out
When I thought that I wouldn't know how
Held onto it forever just pushing it down
Felt so good to let go of it now
Not wrapping this in ribbons
Shouldn't have to give a reason why

It's NO SURPRISE I won't be here tomorrow
I can't believe that I stayed till today
There's nothing here in this heart left to borrow
There's nothing here in this soul left to say
Don't be surprised when we hate this tomorrow
God know we tried to find an easier way
Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow
But I know in time we'll find this was NO SURPRISE

Our favorite place we used to go
The warm embrace that no one knows
The loving look that's left your eyes
That's why this comes as no, as NO SURPRISE

If I could see the future and how this plays out
I bet it's better than where we are now
But after going through this, it's easier to see the reason why

It's NO SURPRISE I won't be here tomorrow
I can't believe that I stayed till today
Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow
But I know in time we'll find this was NO SURPRISE

The kiss goodnight, it comes with me
Both wrong and right, our memories
The whispering before we sleep, just one more thing that you can't keep
Our favorite place we used to go
The warm embrace that no one knows
The loving look that's left your eyes
But I know in time we'll find this was NO SURPRISE

Dealing with Difficult People

Can you recall the last time you had to deal with a negative or difficult person? Or the last time someone said something with the intention of hurting you? How did you handle it? What was the result? What can you do in the future to get through these situations with peace and grace?

No matter where we go, we will face people who are negative, people who oppose our ideas, people who piss us off or people who simply do not like us. There are 6.4 billion people out there and conflict is a fact of life. This fact isn’t the cause of conflict but it is the trigger to our emotions and our emotions are what drive us back to our most basic survival instinct; react and attack back to defend ourselves.

In these instinctual moments, we may lose track of our higher selves and become the human animal with an urge to protect ourselves when attacked. This too is natural. However, we are the only animal blessed with intelligence and having the ability to control our responses. So how can we do that?

I regularly get asked “How do you deal with the negative comments about your articles? They are brutal. I don’t think I could handle them.” My answer is simple, “I don’t let it bother me to begin with.” It wasn’t always this simple, and took me some time before overcoming this natural urgency to protect myself and attack back.

I know it’s not easy, if it was easy, there wouldn’t be difficult or negative people to begin with.

Why Bother Controlling Our Responses?

* Hurting Ourselves - One of my favorite sayings is “Holding a grudge against someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” The only person we hurt is ourselves. When we react to negativity, we are disturbing our inner space and mentally creating pain within ourselves.

* It’s Not About You, It’s About Them - I’ve learned that when people initiate negativity, it is a reflection of their inner state expressed externally and you just happen to be in front of that expression. It’s not personal, so why do we take it personally? In short: Because our ego likes problems and conflict. People are often so bored and unhappy with their own lives that they want to take others down with them. There have been many times when a random person has left a purposefully hurtful comment on TSN, and regularly checked back to see if anyone else responded to their comment, waiting eagerly to respond with more negativity.

* Battle of the Ego - When we respond impulsively, it is a natural and honest response. However, is it the smart thing to do? What can be resolved by doing so? The answer: Nothing. It does however feed our ego’s need for conflict. Have you noticed that when we fight back, it feels really satisfying in our heads? But it doesn’t feel very good in our soul? Our stomach becomes tight, and we start having violent thoughts? When we do respond irrationally, it turns the conversation from a one-sided negative expression into a battle of two egos. It becomes an unnecessary and unproductive battle for Who is Right?

* Anger Feeds Anger. Negativity Feeds Negativity. - Rarely can any good come out of reacting against someone who is in a negative state. It will only trigger anger and an additional reactive response from that person. If we do respond impulsively, we’ll have invested energy in the defending of ourselves and we’ll feel more psychologically compelled to defend ourselves going forward. Have you noticed that the angrier our thoughts become, the angrier we become? It’s a negative downward spiral.

* Waste of Energy - Where attention goes, energy flows. What we focus on tends to expand itself. Since we can only focus on one thing at a time, energy spent on negativity is energy that could have been spent on our personal wellbeing.

* Negativity Spreads - I’ve found that once I allow negativity in one area of my life, it starts to subtly bleed into other areas as well. When we are in a negative state or holding a grudge against someone, we don’t feel very good. We carry that energy with us as we go about our day. When we don’t feel very good, we lose sight of clarity and may react unconsciously to matters in other areas of our lives, unnecessarily.

* Freedom of Speech - People are as entitled to their opinions as you are. Allow them to express how they feel and let it be. Remember that it’s all relative and a matter of perspective. What we consider positive can be perceived by another as negative. When we react, it becomes me-versus-you, who is right? Some people may have a less than eloquent way of expressing themselves - it may even be offensive, but they are still entitled to do so. They have the right to express their own opinions and we have the right and will power to choose our responses. We can choose peace or we can choose conflict.

Difficult People

15 Tips for Dealing with Difficult People

While I’ve had a lot of practice dealing with negativity, it is something I find myself having to actively work on. When I’m caught off guard and end up resorting to a defensive position, the result rarely turns out well.

The point is, we are humans after all, and we have emotions and egos. However, by keeping our egos in-check and inserting emotional intelligence, we’ll not only be doing a favor for our health and mental space, but we’ll also have intercepted a situation that would have gone bad, unnecessarily.

Here are some tips for dealing with a difficult person or negative message:

1. Forgive - What would the Dali Lama do if he was in the situation? He would most likely forgive. Remember that at our very core, we are good, but our judgment becomes clouded and we may say hurtful things. Ask yourself, “What is it about this situation or person that I can seek to understand and forgive?

2. Wait it Out - Sometimes I feel compelled to instantly send an email defending myself. I’ve learned that emotionally charged emails never get us the result we want; they only add oil to the fire. What is helpful is inserting time to allow ourselves to cool off. You can write the emotionally charged email to the person, just don’t send it off. Wait until you’ve cooled off before responding, if you choose to respond at all.

3. “Does it really matter if I am right?” - Sometimes we respond with the intention of defending the side we took a position on. If you find yourself arguing for the sake of being right, ask “Does it matter if I am right?” If yes, then ask “Why do I need to be right? What will I gain?

4. Don’t Respond - Many times when a person initiates a negative message or difficult attitude, they are trying to trigger a response from you. When we react, we are actually giving them what they want. Let’s stop the cycle of negative snowballing and sell them short on what they’re looking for; don’t bother responding.

5. Stop Talking About It - When you have a problem or a conflict in your life, don’t you find that people just love talking about it? We end up repeating the story to anyone who’ll listen. We express how much we hate the situation or person. What we fail to recognize in these moments is that the more we talk about something, the more of that thing we’ll notice. Example, the more we talk about how much we dislike a person, the more hate we will feel towards them and the more we’ll notice things about them that we dislike. Stop giving it energy, stop thinking about it, and stop talking about it. Do your best to not repeat the story to others.

6. Be In Their Shoes - As cliché as this may sound, we tend to forget that we become blind-sided in the situation. Try putting yourself in their position and consider how you may have hurt their feelings. This understanding will give you a new perspective on becoming rational again, and may help you develop compassion for the other person.

7. Look for the Lessons - No situation is ever lost if we can take away from it some lessons that will help us grow and become a better person. Regardless of how negative a scenario may appear, there is always a hidden gift in the form of a lesson. Find the lesson(s).

8. Choose to Eliminate Negative People In Your Life - Negative people can be a source of energy drain. And deeply unhappy people will want to bring you down emotionally, so that they are not down there alone. Be aware of this. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands and do not mind the energy drain, I recommend that you cut them off from your life. Cut them out by avoiding interactions with them as much as possible. Remember that you have the choice to commit to being surrounded by people who have the qualities you admire: optimistic, positive, peaceful and encouraging people. As Kathy Sierra said, “Be around the change you want to see in the world.”

9. Become the Observer - When we practice becoming the observer of our feelings, our thoughts and the situation, we separate ourselves away from the emotions. Instead of identifying with the emotions and letting them consume us, we observe them with clarity and detachment. When you find yourself identifying with emotions and thoughts, bring your focus on your breathe.

10. Go for a Run … or a swim, or some other workout. Physical exercise can help to release the negative and excess energy in us. Use exercise as a tool to clear your mind and release built up negative energy.

11. Worst Case Scenario - Ask yourself two questions, “If I do not respond, what is the worst thing that can result from it?“, “If I do respond, what is the worst thing that can result from it?” Answering these questions often adds perspectives to the situation, and you’ll realize that nothing good will come out of reacting. Your energy will be wasted, and your inner space disturbed.

12. Avoid Heated Discussions - When we’re emotionally charged, we are so much in our heads that we argue out of an impulse to be right, to defend ourselves, for the sake of our egos. Rationality and resolution can rarely arise out of these discussions. If a discussion is necessary, wait until everyone has cooled off before diving into one.

13. Most Important - List out things in your life most important to you. Then ask yourself, “Will a reaction to this person contribute to the things that matter most to me?

14. Pour Honey - This doesn’t always work, but sometimes catches people off guard when they’re trying to “Pour Poison” on you. Compliment the other person for something they did well, tell them you’ve learned something new through interacting with them, and maybe offer to become friends. Remember to be genuine. You might have to dig deep to find something that you appreciate about this person.

15. Express It - Take out some scrap paper and dump all the random and negative thoughts out of you by writing freely without editing. Continue to do so until you have nothing else to say. Now, roll the paper up into a ball, close your eyes and visualize that all the negative energy is now inside that paper ball. Toss the paper ball in the trash. Let it go!

Nazirah : "Thanks TSN for publishing such a good, useful article. I digg it!"

Free Time..

These day, my free time I occupied myself with a lot of activity.. Like recently I joined this club :-
  • Photography
  • Honda Team City
  • Archery
  • Badminton
  • Board Games
  • Karting
  • Volleyball
  • Swimming
All these are under Shell KSC, except Honda City Club and swimming.. No time to self-pity, and I realize that some of you still sympathy with me for being single.. That's so sweet.. Thank you :) But it's ok.. Yeah, it is nice to have someone who you can share your life with.. But I don't have that and it's ok :) I'm pretty tough on my own see? Thanks again..

Yesterday I had my 2nd lesson of photography lesson where they teach us on using Potrait function.. I have to say I suck and I'm not going to post any of the pic I took. It's stupid.. I can't get my focus right on the models they hired.. The instructor even comment that I make the models feet looks big.. I'll get someone to teach me.. Maybe Am@Fauxa, Anas or others who are willing to share..

aL, let's go karting!

Cleaning up...

In the light of the recent events, I’d like to have a say as well.. There are things need to be cleared.. need to be straighten out.. You guys might have heard the “whole” story from one side.. I could have respond to that accusation that day itself.. (Of coz it won’t be nice at all.. who would if such things being said) But I know, it will just get worst.. I keep my silence.. think clearly.. and go swimming.. although I can’t swim.

Things aren’t supposed to be that complicated.. Here goes :

My sister is going for Matrix this month, and she'll be taking MUET. It across my mind that my book is missing. I remember lend it to either Efy or someone, let’s call her SB.

Some might said, “Buat apa la cari balik. Beli saja”. My reply “It costs me almost 50 and only use it once. Of coz I try to find it back”. U all semua byk duit eh.

I figure, things are really simple. No need to have a direct contact with SB. So i'll get someone, let’s call him RZ to ask for me. Since RZ are frens with us both. My only intention was just to know whether SB still had the book or not. That is all.

RZ said SB want to talk so he gave my number. RZ didn’t know I no longer use my old number. So no called or message received.

As for the online/offline part. I could be online half day, offline half day. I guess when SB asked RZ,or when SB asked someone else, i probably just start or off my shift, meaning that i just offline or online.

RZ also didn’t expect things to turn out this way. Neither do I. Don't blame him like that. It wasn’t his fault, wasn’t mine, it's all just a misunderstanding.

SB called me earlier today, discussing this. I understand her situation (although not fully, though I don’t see the need to let everyone knows), and I hope she understand the position she put on both me and RZ.

RZ update me that the blog entry has been deleted. Thank you. But one might said “Terlajak perahu boleh diundur, terlajak kata…” Well, u can’t undo what u said. U made a wild accusation and cursing us and eventually everyone knows it is us (Thanks to that cute picture). Anyway, the damaged is done.

I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze.

All who directly or indirectly involved, drop this. I don’t want to hear anymore, understand that? It is settled. We all have had our share of words. Let it go.

P/s : Picture? I can only think of one picture related to the Hitler. Jews. Too far? Ok, no picture.

8:26 PM

Sesuatu yang menarik..

As usual, once in a while, I'll check my frens blog.. See what's interesting with their life.. N I read Marini's blog. I really like one of her entry. I could never written what she wrote. She's brilliant. And ask for her permission if i could quote that. She said OK, and here it is..

Allah Maha Kaya.. Maha Adil.. Maha Mendengar rintihan hambaNya. Semalam aku menang biarpun aku hanyalah pembawa watak aku sendiri. Pelakon itu tewas, dalam dunia drama ciptaannya. Ternyata skrip Allah lebih berkuasa berbanding skrip ciptaan manusia.

Alhamdulillah.

p/s: Tidak perlu paham, jika tidak paham. Sesuatu berlaku. Aku bangga aku menjadi aku yang semalam. Aku juga bangga dia itu bangun berjuang mempertahan maruah bersama aku."

She wrote what I wish I could say but could never say and much more better. Thanks for letting me borrow this yer Marini.

Tomok - One In A Million

Haha! Last time when I was in high school, I remember liking Tomok with a few of my classmates. Back then Tomok was this cute boy who sangs jiwang + leleh songs. So most of them esp guys were laughing at us. I read a lot of stories about him back then when he is still residing at one flat in Cheras. He complains that his Kancil selalu kene pecah, all his car accessories was stolen.. Disebabkan tu, dia rancang nak beli rumah teres supaya senang parking.. So that was the last time I heard/read about him.

Last week, time balik Rawang, me, my sis and my mom had this conversation :

Adik : Kak gee xnak kat Shah Indrawan ke?
Me : Tomok?
Adik : (Impress) Wah.. kak gee tau tu Tomok..
Me : Awat ngan dia?
Mama : Laa..Dia menang One In A Million.. Tadi final!
Me : Ha?! Tipu la.. (Dlm otak dok bayangkan suara dier yg lama)
Adik : Betoi la kak gee, dia menang sejuta!
Me : Ha?! Mcm mana? (Masih x percaya.. Tomok yg aku suka dulu?)
Mama : Baguih dia perform.. Ramai dok sokong dia!
Me : Betoi ka? Bukan org x suka kat dia ka dulu?
Mama : Dak aih.. (Mak n adik dok sambung cerita pasal kehebatan tomok dgn panjang lebar)
Me : Owh.. Alhamdulillah la dia menang.. (Dok senyum-senyum)
Adik : Ceee.. kak gee suka la tu..
Me : Woh..Mesti la suka.. Dulu siap lekat poster dlm bilik.. Hahaha
Mama : Tau.. Mcm la kami x nampak..
Me : Hahahaha...

So pastu, apa lagi, YouTube aa cari persembahan Tomok yg final.. Terkejut mcm x percaya, ni ka Tomok? Gila dah berubah.. Suara dh x cam dulu.. Imej pon lain.. Baguih.. Nah.. Cube korang tgk persembahan ni.. My favourite..

Amacam? Boleh tahan la kan.. Anyway, dah rezeki dia nak menang mlm tu.. Tumpang gembira untuk Tomok.. :D

Flightless Bird American Mouth

Just listen to this song..

Title: Flightless Bird, American Mouth
Artist: Iron & Wine
Album: Twilight Soundtrack

I was a quick wet boy
Diving too deep for coins
All of your straight blind eyes
Wide on my plastic toys
And when the cops closed the fair
I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog-eared map
And called for you everywhere

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill looming

Now I’m a fat house cat
Cursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats
Curl through the wide/white fence cracks
Kissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean
Blood of Christ mountain stream

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, brown hair bleeding
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill, stuck going down

P/s : I had to constantly remind myself that being single is great when I watch this.

Official Member of...

I'm really keeping myself busy.. Why? No straight answer.. But recently this past few days I've joined the photography class held by Kelab Shell Cyberjaya (KSC) and I went to meet the official members of Team City and register myself..

For the photography class, there's no specific reason on why i joined it.. I just thought since they are going to teach us on how to use the macro function, I might as well learned it.. So, now I know it.. For those who don't know, (Correct me if i'm wrong).. it is used to take a close up picture of an object.. Like an eye of a spider.. Or lalat.. Haha.. I don't have the big-big camera, DSLR or whatever they called it, i'm only using Ixus.. So for these camera, u change the function to the macro icon (flower icon), and disable your flash.. Then you find the focus point of your object, u go really near to the object, half click it, then pull back your camera a bit to the object full view, then snap it (again, correct me if i'm wrong).. As you can see below, these are a few object that I tried with the macro function.. I know i'm no good at this.. Appreciate your feedback :D

My 1st Macro Shoot

And this one too.. Ok or not?

Sorry, i couldn't find any spider or lalat there.. Maybe next time.. If i want la.. Usually i don't intend to keep it :P

Second of all, today 25th, i went to Yau Yip Exhaust, Glenmarie Shah Alam where I meet the official members of the Team City club.. They are all very welcoming.. Most of the members are really friendly.. And, most importantly their cars are really impressive.. Wish mine is cool like 'em.. Plus, this event were held to show us on how to mod cars.. I don't really understand whatever they were doing.. But really, i'm trying.. Owh, i forgot to mention that i took aL@laLat to accompany me.. At least he knows more about cars than i am.. Below are the a few pic.. You can see all the pic i took
here.

They are blocking my car.. *sigh" it's ok.. the car got nothing to show anyway :P

Group photo!

So i guess that's all for now.. I gtg back to work.. See ya later!

My Personality...

So I decided to do a few quiz. (Click on the quiz title to do it too!)
Results : -

The Real Me Quiz
1. You've got great self-confidence and you're full of charm. Most guys who get to know you will be attracted to you. You are far from sweet and proper; your intriguing personality fascinates them. Most guys find it easy to fall for a girl like you.

2. You really care about other people's feelings and are quite serious about the issues that affect your life. You are sincere, and your concern for the well-being of others makes many people want to be your friend.

3. You are a bright, cheerful and bubbly person. You are thoughtful and considerate, and like to have fun. Everybody feels comfortable around you because of your pleasant nature. When you walk into a room, people's eyes are likely to be drawn to you because of your charm.

4. Your peers think of you as a fun person, but sometimes you can be a little irresponsible. You can be somewhat childish, and can try to ignore the fact that you will one day need to really grow up and be a mature adult! Perhaps you could start reading good books; they might help you look at the world in a different light. You do want to be taken seriously, right?

5. Your boyfriend believes that you are a strong and independent person. Your confidence and cheerfulness make you an attractive person to be around, but sometimes you need to pay more attention to what other people, including your boyfriend, are thinking.

Nazirah : Erm, OK.

What's your personality love style?
You desire a love that will last forever. You are quite serious about finding this type of love, and that's why you think carefully about the men that you meet before deciding whether you could really love them. You don't just develop a crush on someone overnight: you look at a person's personality and other aspects of their life before deciding to form an attachment. If a guy doesn't meet your expectations, you would rather be alone. Your love has to be perfect. Be careful though, you could be missing out on some worthy relationships because your standards are so high.

Nazirah : Perfect doesn't exists, I get that.

What type of personality do you have?
Bright and Cheerful
You are always cheerful and charming. You never get too serious with people when they're around, but when you are alone, you think carefully about what they have said. That's because you don't want anyone to see you being too somber. Your personality means you have a lot of friends and you are often the center of attention. Many people who fall into this category become artists and movie stars, perhaps fame could be yours in the future as well.

Nazirah : I would NEVER be in the Entertainment Industry.

What does being a friend really mean to you?
You value your friendships: 90%

You love your friends very much - so much so that it's actually quite a worry. You may not be able to cope very well when you do lose somebody's friendship. You are a very sensitive and fragile person, and are therefore likely to get upset easily. You care for your friends and are willing to do anything that they ask you to do. Sometimes this can make your friends think that you are a bit of a nuisance. Nevertheless, people do really love you because your highest priority is your friends.

Nazirah : I value my friends. I just hope in return, they don't forget me.

Your Hidden Talent
The Mass Communicator
You have a cheerful personality and you are a naturally kind person. Your hidden talent isn't really that hidden at all: you shine among a crowd. You would make an ideal news announcer, flight attendant or model - any position that would give you an opportunity to deal with plenty of people. A tip for you is to avoid getting too deeply involved in others' personal lives - otherwise you might find yourself constantly being asked for help.

Nazirah : Indeed though about the help. But job like that, no.

Marriage
You are far too young to think about wedding. Enjoy ten or more years before thinking of walking through the aisle.

Nazirah : Yeah, who wants to marry an old lady if I wait for 10 years?!
