Song Alert : Taylor Swift - Teardrops of My Guitar

Hei everyone! I've decided that i'm going to have a Song Alert corner everytime i feels that there's a song that sounds really good to me.. Not just the melody, but also the lyrics.. I always like a song with good lyrics that actually mean something rather than a song with nice rhythm, melody but couldn't understand what the meaning of it.. Anyway, it's just my two-cents.. :D

So i heard this song couple of weeks ago in my fave radio station, Fly Fm.. & i don't know why, but i can picture myself singing this.. (It would be cool if i know how to play a guitar :) )And i like to clear up something.. I wasn't thinking of anybody when i heard this songs or any other songs for that matter.. It's touches me somehow but no one in particular.. Gosh, do i make any sense? Hehe..

Results + Dinner

Assalamualaikum.. Hello World!.. Haha.. Hi, how you've been? It feels like thousand years ago since i last update my blog.. My friends were like, "When are going to update it?".. I've been really busy with my projects guys.. Last time, i used to update my blog at my office coz i can still steal spare time.. But now, i'm quite bz lor..

Thank God my house finally have internet access.. I'm using Maxis Broadband rite now.. As usual, i have lots to talk about.. I know it's wayyy back, but i want to stress something regarding our election results.. And also, the 70's & 80's dinner we had.. and whatever that comes to my mind rite now.. Haha..

Let's start with our election results.. It comes as somewhat shocking.. BN was denied a 2/3 majority.. And losing 5 country to the so called "Barisan Rakyat".. It's a good thing because we really practice democratic.. Like Dr. M said "We had to have an opposition. We feel like we are doing everything right whereas the opposition will tell us that what we did are wrong".. BN are getting big headed and someone need to slap them in the face.. And i strongly believe that "Barisan Rakyat" wins not because they are the stronger party, but because of BN weaknesses.. All BN need to do know is gain people's trust back.. And fix what need to be fixed.. End of story ;)

A few weeks ago, our company had a 70's 80's revival dinner and dance which took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.. I don't know about others but i absolutely enjoying myself the entire night.. A lot of people came.. n they are really cool.. I can see a lot of afro's hair everywhere.. As for myself, i'm going as a hippies.. So i'm wearing pink polka dot dress with glittering butterfly slack.. It was really fun.. Can't wait for the next dinner.. This is a pic of my department members..

On 26th March, I attend a Microsoft training at the Microsoft Malaysia office which is located at Level 29, Tower 2, Petronas Twin Tower where i learned about IIS 7.0 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008.. You can download the powerpoint slide here (I'll update the link soon. Still waiting for the slide from the Microsoft people). And this 5th & 6th April, i have another training there. This time it's about SQL Server 2008..

And finally, my favorite sports, the F1 grand prix! I am so happy that BMW is leading for the constructors championship.. Yeah i know i know.. Only 1 points ahead.. But, this is the first time BMW has been ahead of Ferrari & Mclaren!.. I am so excited.. BMW could be the next best thing! after Ferrari of course ;) .. My hubby, Nick Heidfeld is doing fine.. Although we haven't see him in the podium..yet.. But he's second to Kimi with 16 points so far.. And Robert Kubica is at fourth place with 14 points.. Go team BMW!! Election, my opinion

Assalamualaikum.. Hey everyone. Been bz? I've been extremely bz this past few weeks. I feel like an elf.. Not that i'm complaining or anything.. It's just..I'm kinda tired..mentally.. But, hey.. what do expect from working life..

I have so much to say especially with the election coming in.., the problem I (always) had with Touch N Go.., and our oil prices.. I hope I can get all my thoughts down by today.. First, i want to start with our coming election..

Before this, i am a big supporter of our government.. mainly Barisan Nasional.. I think they did a great job making our country where we are today.. I can't imagine if other party were to lead our country, we would accomplished such things.. Barisan Nasional is right by saying "We are on the right track".. Yes, they do..

Y? Here's the thing.. This party consists of 3 popular sub-party.. as we all know, UMNO, MCA & MIC.. If this party win, the Prime Minister must be from UMNO.. But think about this, if Barisan Alternative wins, who do they select as Prime Minister? Because, correct me if i'm wrong, as far as I know, anyone from that party can run our country right? I'm not trying to be a races here.. But I hope, it will be someone who can still protect our special Bumiputera's right..

Recently, people have been posting a lot of stuff regarding BN.. (the bad side of course).. How wealthy they are.. Increase of price for everything.. 5ok for a plat number.. If you really sit down and think about it, if someone really had a lot of money, wouldn't they want to spend it? Wouldn't they want a bigger house? Wouldn't they want a better life? What's your guarantee that if the people from Barisan Alternative gets really rich, they wouldn't do exactly the same? As for the increases of price.. if Barisan Alternative takes over, the price wouldn't increase at all?

In my opinion, I don't care what they do with their money.. Because we, tend to "forget" once we become very rich.. Melayu mudah lupa.. that's the word.. & I'm not saying it applies for others.. It applies for myself too.. I myself IF I get extremely rich, I can't guarantee i wouldn't buy a plat number for even RM100k if it had the numbers i like.. Coz I'm am filthy rich.. I am capable to buy that.. (Remember, I said IF)..

People nowdays are bringing all the bad side of BN.. Have you ever think about the good side? How about the bad side of the other party? Like Keadilan for example.. The party was build based on "Individual benefits" and not for our country benefits.. How could this party guide us? What are their agenda's? If they were to win, where would they direct our country? I can't imagine what would happen to us if this party lead us.. And the most importantly, who will lead us? How do they select the Prime Minister? Some said it will be the majority.. What if the majority is not Bumiputera? or to be specific, it is not Malay? Do you think we Malay can be where we are today?

I don't have so much to say about PAS.. But how could they join Barisan Alternative? It is just so wrong.. So off their track.. As for DAP, well.. All i can think of, if this party win.. Our special rights as Bumiputera's will definitely gone..

However, there are a few things that i do not agree with the people inside BN.. The party is OK.. but the people inside.. Especially Pak Lah and his famous son-in-law.. I mean.. I have heard nothing but negative things about them both.. I'm not gonna say anything about Pak Lah.. I have a lot of respect for him.. He's our Prime Minister.. But who is Khairy Jamaluddin (from now on refer as KJ) ? Just because he is the son-in-law of our Prime Minister, he conquers everything? And why are you competing for the election? Money is not enough for you? And now you want power?

I once took a cab from KLIA to my house.. The taxi driver, 50 years old Chinese man, was really friendly.. We talked all the way from the start of our journey to the end of it.. He said, he really admire our previous Prime Minister.. (no need to say who).. & he hates KJ.. He told me that in KLIA, there's a taxi service.. where he works.. and after that, KJ opens a bus service right next to it and it slows down the taxi business.. And a friend of mine told me that his company actually got hold on one project tender, then suddenly, that tender went to KJ.. I'm sure there are millions of stories like this rite? That's why I hate him.. He conquers everything! Why not help others to be successful as well? KJ, in case you read this, no one stays up for long.. so be prepared to fall..

To sums up my election thoughts, I do hope BN wins the majority, but i would like to see other party to win as well.. So that BN will know they are are losing their supporters.. You know, we should really be united and have one goal and one goal only.. To lead Malaysia the best way possible without neglecting moral values and people around us.. (that's my quotes! Haha!)

I still haven't written down my thoughts on Touch N Go services and the increase of oil prices.. Because it's already 5.50 p.m. and i'm tired... But i'll do it one day..once i'm free.. My message to all, do your part to the country by voting.. Some people don't care at all.. You must realize, your vote determines the future of your country and your own future..

20 Things I'm Glad Life Taught Me

Assalamualaikum w.b.t everyone.. How are you? Hope y'all are doin' great.. Last week i've been so busy that i don't even have time for myself.. Every minute my mind is racing with coding, interfaces, user's expectation, documentation and whole lots of others.. Today i'm a bit free because i finished my work 7 days earlier. So hopefully no work for me ;) But it's impossible here..

As usual, i do my digg, and i come across this article, "20 Things I'm Glad Life Taught Me".. and i like it.. All of them are excellent and i agree with it.. Books doesn't teach us as much as life itself.. Sometimes we failed miserably, sometimes we had success beyond our expectation.. I like this quote from the Jerry Maguire movie, he said "I failed as much as I succeed".. It makes you think that in life, nothings come easy.. What important is that, you learn from your mistakes, failures and developed yourself from there.. Like my friend once said, "Life is Development".. Here are the 20 lists from the article "20 Things I'm Glad Life Taught Me" :

1. You must create and look for opportunities : Opportunities rarely ever come knocking on the door of someone who's not seeking them. You have to create and seek opportunities for yourself. You have to take the initiative to get the ball rolling and the doors opening.
2. Negativity will only bring more of it : When you focus only on negativity, obviously that's all you will see. You will not seek out positivity, and even when positivity comes into your life, you'll look for the negative part of it.
3. Where you are does not determine where you can go : It doesn't matter if you're homeless or living in a mansion, poor or rich, or if you have a 4.0 grade point average or "failing", it won't make any difference in the future. There are countless rags to riches stories to back this point up. If you have the drive and talents, you can go anywhere. You create your own limitations and horizon.
4. If you can't help others, you can't help yourself : Even if it's just to hold the door for someone or some other simple gesture, it will do wonders for your life. You'll feel great and you'll eventually be returned the favor sometime during your life, whether you realize it or not. If you don't want to help others, then others won't want to help you, and nor should they.
5. Follow your passion, money will follow : If you have passion and have fun doing your job, then I wouldn't consider it a job. You can focus on creating even more passion for that subject and money will eventually follow you. If you focus only on the money, it won't come because you're focused on the quantity of your work and not the quality.
6. Enjoy yourself : Have fun as much as possible, don't take everything so seriously. Push your worries aside and bring enjoyment closer.
7. If it were easy everyone would do it : This is why get rich quick schemes will never be true. If it was so quick and easy then everyone would be millionaires. Making money and accomplishing tasks is hard work, but well worth it.
8. Planning is good but so is being spontaneous : Planning ahead in business and in life is important but so is being able to quickly change that plan. Various people and events will get in the way of your plans, so you have to be able to modify or forget your plans at times. Be spontaneous once and awhile, it makes life interesting. (Everyone knows I'm a planner, so I need to work out on this one :D )
   
9. You have many talents : You may be a talented athlete or musician but you probably have ten more talents you don't even know about. When people find something they're good at, they only focus on that instead of seeing what else they can do.
10. Don't work hard without rewards : What's the point of working hard to follow your dreams if you aren't going to treat yourself along the way. Each little or big goal you accomplish should be rewarded with a proportionate treat, maybe a day off or a big slice of cake.
11. Money does bring happiness : As I said, you shouldn't be chasing money but when you do earn it, you know you've been accomplishing something. It feels great and brings you happiness because you know you'll have more freedom and time to do what you want.
12. Someone always has it worse : At times you may be having a bad day, but stop yourself and think about it; there has to be millions of other people are having a worse day than you.
13. You'll need others : Make as many friends as you possibly can and never burn bridges. You will need others for your success.
14. Being open-minded is the key to more knowledge : If you want to know more about the world you have to be open-minded. Give everything a chance.
15. Failure is great : One of the most important, if not the most important steps to success is failure. You have to fail at least once, but it's better if you've failed multiple times. You can learn so much more from your failures than you could any other way. And when you finally achieve success, you'll appreciate it so much more.
16. Most people are actually nice : This is something I've only recently realized. Most people are nice, but not usually to strangers. Once they get to know you and you get to know them, they will most likely seem like very nice people.
17. Words and thoughts control everything : What you say and think will ultimately become reality. If you say you're going to fail, then you will because you'll find a way to make it happen. If you say you're going to succeed, the same will happen, you'll find a way.
18. Your view is the reality : How you see an event or situation is how it exists. If you see something as tragic and negative then that's what it means to you. If you see something as exciting and positive, then that's what it is.
19. Inspiration and motivation are everywhere : I don't care where you are, there is something there that can motivate and inspire you. You can be at war is some far away country, in horrible conditions, but there will be something there to keep you going and strive for something better. You just have to recognize it and keep it with you.
20. You can change the world : Every single person has the ability to change the world whether directly or indirectly. When you change your life and the lives of those around you, you've changed the world. Small things that you do can make a huge impact on the world.

So what do you guys think? Maybe you agree with some of it or none, but i agree with all.. My personal favorite is No.15.. The reason is because i went to one major breakdown and i just thought that was the end of my life.. It takes a lot of courage, support, confidence and faith for me to stand up again.. I never want to go through that again.. One is enough, one is painful..

How to Make People Like You?

Assalamualaikum.. Hi all.. How r u? I'm doin' great this couple of days.. The project I'm involved which is with Ethylene & Polyethylene is almost over.. We did UAT (User Acceptance Test) last Tuesday and it went ok.. But it looks like i have to go to Kerteh again to train them.. I like going there especially if i got to stay at Awana resort.. But it's too quiet.. I'll go crazy if i had to work there forever.. Hehehe..

Today, i want to post something about "How to Make People Like You".. I used to have a BIG problem on this.. I remember when i was doing my diploma, people said that i'm so NOT approachable.. that i'm not friendly and i'm very arrogant.. The thing is, back then, i don't really like to smile.. and i only talk to people i know.. and i had no intentions to be likeable.. I'm like.. This is me, if you don't like it, do i look like i care?.. (poyo x? Haha..)

But as you get mature, learned from your experiences..., making people like you is very important.. It IS important for many reasons.. As for career perspective, to get promoted, to get a good review, to asks for opinion and to be able to approach anyone for help.. Personally, you become more confident, you have many friends, people will want to know you and more importantly, you feel good about yourself.. I found a few articles that you can read on ways to make people like you..

• As for the first time meeting, it is important to 'look' like a friendly and attractive person - and this does not mean you have to have 'film star' looks or 'cat-walk' clothes! What it does mean, however, is that you need to look open, honest, friendly, outgoing and 'as if you care' about your appearance.
• You also need to be aware that you do not look as if you are wrapped up in yourself, or distracted in some way. When meeting a new person it is vital that you show you are interested in them.
• This means making appropriate physical contact in an appropriate and positive way, maybe this will mean shaking hands or even possibly greeting people in a slightly more 'intimate' way. But you need to appear confident and positive in all these things in order to start the process of conveying likeableness in the right way
• It is really important to make direct eye-to-eye contact with someone when you are introduced - which means looking at them in a straight and 'real' way, right into their eyes - accompanied by a warm and genuine smile. If you are lacking in confidence, and do not normally find yourself as a naturally 'smiley' person you need to make some serious effort in this area - whilst making sure that you do not give an impression of falseness, or 'overdoing' it as this will likely have the opposite effect to that you desire.
• The next 'big thing' that will influence people is when you start to speak. You need to have a lively and pleasant tone to your voice. Sadly some folks develop a monotonous, or dull sound to their voice. Maybe they talk in a squeaky or affected way. In this matter you need to be truly self-critical and, if you feel you are lacking, you need to make an effort to develop better speaking-voice qualities. It can be done - actors and actresses do it for a living, and once you develop confidence in yourself and the way you sound many of the other attributes of 'likeableness' will fall into place.
• If you have managed to make the right first visual and aural impression on a new person you are already well on the way to being 'instantly likeable'. The rest will depend on how your first conversation goes. The key to this is to remember that people 'like' to be asked about themselves, their lives, their likes and dislikes - in other words THEY like to feel the center of attention. They DO NOT like having to listen to the tales of the 'great I am', nor do they like to have the conversation monopolized so they cannot get a word in.
• If you can strike a good balance (minimum 60% to 40% in their favor maximum about 80/20) when it comes to who is doing the most talking, this will go a long way to making you 'instantly likeable' most people like a 'good listener'.
• One of the biggest tips for being liked is to try to develop a natural, warm friendly smile that you use liberally. People like 'happy people' who are fun to be with. Time and again both men and women agree that they are most attracted to people who can make them laugh (BUT don't get carried away and feel you need to learn the contents of a 'joke book' - the laughter needs to be natural and light to work best!)
• Focus on the other! Always make sure you are focusing on the person you are with and making them feel the center of your attention - create a virtual 'bubble' of attention around them - including being aware of any indication that they may be uncomfortable for any reason and trying to deal with it (this could range from causes such as touching on 'awkward' topics of conversation to steer away from, to them sitting in a draught!) When this happens naturally do what is necessary to defuse their discomfort.
• Remember that you need to keep your posture open and friendly at all times. For instance, folding your arms whilst talking is a 'no no' because it creates a psychological barrier'. But holding a persons gaze whilst they talk, and showing you are listening intently through nods and sounds of agreement as appropriate are really important ‘signs’ that you are truly focussed on them.
• Make sure you look good, people don't want to be friends with weird badly dressed, bad smelling, or just plain dumb people.
• Generally speaking, most of us already have good humor. We laugh with our friends. Simply, use it more, even look for ways to use it more. Tell a joke, however badly then laugh at yourself, if it is THAT bad.The world is serious enough without all of us contributing even more. I choose to like people who are of good humor.
• I believe people like being valued and a well placed compliment shows them that you value them. Other compliment-rich areas include: anything about their kids, their thoughtfulness, their thinking process, their departments, teams, company, their skills, even their voice.
• We have known people who apparently listen but have that what-I-am-doing-here vacant look in their eyes. By training yourself to listen, and acknowledge and then add value you will be a better listener than 90% of all adults. By listening better, even if you don’t get to say too much in a one-sided conversation, people will think you are quite smart for taking such an active interest in what they are saying.
• People who are willing to do new things, consider others’ viewpoints, or learn some new skill are generally more interesting and likeable. There are some people who won’t try a new restaurant or a new food or a new type of entertainment. We are all different, sure. I don’t like opera music on the radio. But if someone invited me to attend a local opera, I would go. Ok, I might not. We all have likes and dislikes. But the more you are willing to accept change and are viewed as flexible and adaptable, you will be obviously more likeable.
• Use open body language. Uncover your heart by leaving your jacket or coat unbuttoned and facing the other person.
• Be first with eye contact. Look the other person straight in the eye.
• Beam a smile.
• Be the first to identify yourself with a pleasant, “Hi! I’m Nick.”
• Lean subtly toward the other person to show your interest and openness
